JET SKI

For the rider, a jet ski combines the speed of a motorcycle with the skills of water-skiing. Since their first commercial production in 1973, jet skis have become a popular aquatic craft for sport and entertainment worldwide.

JUPITER

The rings of jupiter

Jupiter is the largest, most massive planet in the solar system. Its rapid rate of rotation in 9 hours 55 minutes causes hte clouds in its atmosphere to form dark, low-altitude 'belts' and bright, high-altitude 'zones' - both with huge storm systems-witch encircle the planet parallel with the equator. Juipiter has two faint rings, and is orbited by 16 known moons, of which Ganymede, Callisto, Io, and Europe (the Gailleans) are the largest.

HOE

Hoes have a variety of use, including weeding, drawing up earth around plants, breaking up hard soil, and making seed drills. Each has a sharp blade, fashioned to suit its purpose.

FIGHTER

Fighters are fast and highly manoeuvrable aircraft. On-board computers help the pilot to control and navigate the plane and launch its weaponry. Fighters are capable of carrying air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles for airborne, land, and sea targets. Their defensive systems include electronic beams and flares for confusing enemy fire.

GENE

Genes, inherited from parents and previous fore bears, and emotional characteristics of a person. The genetic coding that governs such characteristics is transmitted vie DNA. This is born on chromosomes contained within the nuclei of sperm and egg cells, which fuse together during fertilization. A new individual is thus created, possessing a blend of genetic information from each parent.

BLACK HOLE

Formation of extragalactic jets from a black hole's accretion disk

If the mass of the collapsed core of a supernova exceeds the mass of our sun by three times, if continues to collapse, forming a black hole. Invisible because its gravity is so dense that light cannot escape, a black hole can be detected if gas frome a companion star is drawn towards it.
