JET ENGINE

The turbojet, the simplest type of jet engine, produces thrust by burning a combination of fuel and air which releases a powerful steam of hot exhaust gases. This also turns a turbine, which runs an air compressor, which in turn forces more air into the combustion chamber. In a turbofan jet engine,a low-pressure turbine drives a fan , which forces air through bypass ducts to join the exhaust stream, producing dual thrust. A turboprop jet engine spins a propeller and expels exhaust gases, both producing thrust.
