PHOTOCOPIER

At the heart of a photocopier is a charged photo conductive drum. the image to be copied is projected via a lens and mirrors on to the drum. Light from white areas of the image disperses the charge where it hits the drum. The drum is left with charged areas that correspond to the black parts of the document. These attract toner from a roller to form a copy of the document on the drum, which is then transferred to a sheet of paper.
