OBSERVATORY

Spain Astronomical  Observatory
Astronomers use observation to study the movement, position, and physical composition of celestial bodies. Observatories are built where viewing conditions are best: usually on high ground, in low-population areas with stable air and little cloud. The keck telescopes (the largest in the world) are used in observation on Mauna Kea, Hawaii. These telescope have mirrors with a daimeter of 10 m(33 ft).
